The beginning of soclalism rising in America. The compromise with and kowtowing to radical Islam. Tax increases and big government.

I may not have voted for President Obama but I believe the voice of America has spoken. I brought a friend to vote in this election who had never voted before. He is qualified for the job not because of the color of his skin but because of the content of his character. Yes it is a momentous occasion because the people of this great nation did not let the color of this man’s skin blind them from his possibilities. However it is an important reason but not the only reason he is President.

Peace of Mind knowing that there is some I trust in the people’s house and the oval office. I am filled with hope and desire to do my part to heal our Nation

“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it’s unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there’s no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there’s a chance you may contribute to making a better world. The choice is yours.” Noam Chomsky

I never thought I’d see this day in my lifetime. I am proud to be an American, proud that we have such an intelligent, mindful, and eloquent leader in charge. There has been a shift in America, and maybe the world with this historic day. It may take a long time before we are in a place we want to be, but this is a mighty big step to get the ball rolling.

As a mother of a soldier, I have hope. I’m glad to finally hear our leaders talking from a perspective where you can be patriotic at the same time as not believing in the war. I know that I am and that my son is, and that our family is so very happy today.

Not sure what “Anon” from from Edinburgh is talking of but the crisis America is in now is because the government wasn’t watching while crooks in suits decided to do as they please to line their on pockets. So yes this is a change for the better because hopefully with Obama in office those crooks in suits will have to answer to someone.

The only limit to what he can do, is how much you are willing to change. He can set an example, but it’s up to you to follow it.

Ask yourself, “How can I help?”. You can add some things to the end. “How can I help my community?”, “How can I help the environment?”, “How can I help the children?”.

These are going to be tough times ahead, and we can pull through it, but only if we work together. To “jaxon”, “potus lies”, and others, lets work together to change ourselves into better people.

Do you really think that this will be a change for better? Poor, poor people. A man who wants to fight the crisis (caused by government involvement) with more government involvement will lead you to new world order, new world of slavery.

Inaugural Insight

  • The inauguration for the first U.S. president, George Washington, was held on April 30, 1789 in New York City.
  • Should January 20 be a Sunday, the President is usually administered the oath of office in a private ceremony on that day, followed by a public ceremony the following day.
  • Immediately following the oath, the bands play four ruffles and flourishes and "Hail to the Chief", followed by a 21-gun salute from howitzers of the Presidential Salute Battery.
  • The inaugural celebrations usually last ten days, from five days before the inauguration to five days after.
  • Since Thomas Jefferson's second inaugural on March 4, 1805, it has become tradition for the president to parade down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House.
  • According to tradition, in the first inaugural, President Washington added the words "so help me God" when reciting the oath, although there is no contemporary evidence of this.
  • In 1977, Jimmy Carter started a new tradition by walking from the Capitol to the White House, although subsequent presidents have only walked part of the way for security reasons.
  • The War of 1812 and World War II forced two swearing-ins to be held at other locations in Washington, D.C.
  • The new President assumes power at noon on January 20th, regardless of whether or not he has actually taken the oath of office.
  • There is no requirement that any book, or in particular a book of sacred text, be used to administer the oath, and none is mentioned in the Constitution.
